Haze, college binge drinking documentary film screening in Ridgefield on May 10

Haze, a 50 minute documentary film about the dangers of college binge drinking, followed by a Q&A panel discussion. Wednesday May 10th, 7:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, North Hall.

The Ridgefield Prevention Council is sponsoring this event to raise awareness and open up conversation about alcohol use on college campuses, and the prevalence and dangers of binge drinking.  Open to the public; College studens, Mature high school students and parents encouraged to attend, and be a part of the discussion..

This film was produced by The Gordie Foundation, a non-profit organization  that was founded after the hazing death of Fairfield County resident,  freshman Gordie Bailey at the University of Colorado. The mission is "to provide today's young people with the skills to navigate the dangers of alcohol, binge drinking, peer pressure and hazing.”

The film is 50 minutes. The follow up discussion panel will include:

  •       Carol Mahlstedt  Psy.D. a Ridgefield based psychologist
  •       Allison Kernan, a Young adult in recovery and a recovery support specialist
  •       Sharon Guck, Director of Prevention WCSU
  •       A local college student
