Russia to Hollywood Documentary Screening in Ridgefield on August 9

The Michael Chekhov Theatre Festival of Ridgefield will present a documentary film screening of From Russia to Hollywood at the Ridgefield Library on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m.

The film was created and co-produced by Lisa Dalton, President of the National Michael Chekhov Association. Narrator Gregory Peck joins an A-list of Hollywood stars to take us through the odyssey of two Russian born Hollywood legends: The great acting teacher Michael Chekhov and the amazing director George Shdanoff. The screening is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Library and registration is encouraged at ridgefieldlibrary.org or by calling 203-438-2282. The film is shown courtesy of Lisa Dalton. Copies may be purchased at www.lisadalton.com.

After the screening, movie viewers are invited to go across the street for a celebrity bartender event at Yuan Asian Cuisine Restaurant. Board members Jeffery Albanesi and Bob Ponturo will delight guests with witty conversation while they pour drinks from the restaurant’s bar.  Twenty percent of the bar proceeds will go to the Michael Chekhov Theatre Festival and help pay for the innovative professional performances of the 2017 festival weekend in September ( 9/16 -9/24). Yuan Asian Cuisine Restaurant is located at 470 Main Street, on back parking lot side.
