Holiday Surprises in Ridgefield Conservatory's Production of The Nutcracker at Ridgefield Playhouse

Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance is getting ready for their annual Nutcracker and they are excited for a new improvement, adding a growing tree to this year‘s production held annually at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

Artistic Director Amy Piantaggini says, “While our classic tradition stands the test of time, each year we add something special to the production, directed by Alexander Glaz. Cyrus Newitt is making my dream come true for a growing tree that will further dazzle audiences!”

Newitt is a new resident of Ridgefield and has volunteered his services to RCD’s creation of a magnificent new growing Christmas tree with lighting effects. Ms. Piantaggini met Mr. Newitt this summer during Thrown Stone’s acclaimed run of Milk, which premiered at Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance. Mr. Newitt is Thrown Stone’s Production Manager, and also played the role of Cyril in the play by Ross Dunsmore.

Nutcracker Director Alexander Glaz says tells us, “This year, not only do we have the largest Nutcracker with over 100 participants, but we have also taken this annual production to new technical and artistic heights! This magical spectacle will surely delight the whole family.”

There are five performances between December 15 and 17th. For tickets visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
