13th Annual Festive Home Kicks Off Holiday Season with Preview Party on November 17

Members of Ridgefield Guild of Artists, along with seven local decorator teams, are busy transforming the white-walled, antique barn gallery space on Halpin Lane into a magical holiday emporium for the 13th Annual Festive Home, kicking-off with a special preview party on Friday, November 17th, open to all for an entry fee of $20 payable at the door.

Join the party as the Guild celebrates the start of their annual holiday fundraiser. Enjoy festive refreshments, music, and more, along with the first peek at the holiday showcase. The event continues for five weeks with free admission from Saturday, November 18th through Saturday, December 23rd.

The color scheme for this year’s event is cheerful “Holiday Blues,” with a touch of metallic accents and plenty of inspiration for the perfect holiday celebration. The designers have paired up with member artists, contributing their talents to create dazzling and festive vignettes around the barn. They are the dramatic backdrops that showcase the many items for sale. All of our designers, Rachel Belden, Amanda Dranow, Josh Fischer, Julia Frossell, Molly Hirsch, Andrea Romeo & Rebecca Baglio and Leslie Toran & Kimberly Harper hale from Ridgefield.

This holiday marketplace and fundraiser brings many, many shoppers to the charming antique building every year. They will find the galleries brimming with creative gifts: unique hand-made and hand-selected items such as jewelry, ceramics, apparel and mittens, and original artwork, along with decorative and useful objects for holiday home decorating. Twenty-five area artisans are selling their wares this year.

Executive Director of the Guild, Pamela Stoddart, is thrilled how this year’s event is shaping up: “Now in our 13th year, Festive Home has turned into this area’s premiere destination for that eclectic holiday gift or decoration for your home. Plenty of artwork adorns the walls for purchase as a gift or to enhance your home.”

Many Guild members also support this fundraiser by creating and donating small canvases for sale at Festive Home. The theme for this year’s canvas art project is “furry and feathered friends” and their environments. They are on display and for sale at Festive Home, priced at $50 with 100% of the proceeds coming back to the Guild. Back this year is the Attic Art Sale of small works by members with a price tag of $200 and under for great “grab-n-go” original gifts.

Established in the fall of 1974, the Guild plays a major role in the regional arts community. Funds raised at Festive Home are key to keeping the Guild’s doors open and programs going like the many exhibitions and opening receptions each year, to the ARTalk lecture series with Ridgefield Library, to classes and workshops including summer programs for adults and kids, plus countless collaborations with other local non-profit organizations.

Expanded holiday hours are Tuesday – Sunday, 11am-5pm.  Galleries will be closed November 22 and 23for Thanksgiving. The barn is also available for private parties for local business groups and non-profits during off-hours. The Guild is located at 34 Halpin Lane in Ridgefield.
