Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra debuts free Listening Live! family concert at Ridgefield Library

A new tradition was launched on Saturday afternoon as the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra presented the first "Listening Live!" free family concert. This event was hosted and co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Library. A trio of professional musicians presented a delightful program "Around the World with Music" comprised of short classical pieces and educational snippets about the countries of origin and musical terms. Violinist Chie Yoshinaka, cellist Tristan Rais-Sherman, and pianist Benjamin Steinhardt entertained the capacity crowd with their musicianship and engaging personalities and encouraged the enthusiastic participation of the children and parents.

“We are very fortunate to have Union Savings Bank as the principal sponsor of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra’s Education and Outreach Initiative," says RSO Executive Director Laurie Kenagy. "Increasing the appreciation for music through community involvement is an integral part of the RSO's mission. We love having the opportunity to create an event like this where we provide professional classical music in an age-appropriate and family-friendly setting".
