Registration opens on January 1 for Redding's A Run for the Cows

Don't miss out on the 2018 Redding Road Race!

Registration for the seventh annual Redding Road Race, A Run for the Cows, will open on January 1st at noon. This event is organized by John McCleary, hosted by New Pond Farm Education Center, and the title sponsor is goneforarun.com.

Those interested in participating are urged to register early, as the race sold out in a matter of hours last year.

Local runners, joined by those from more than 25 states and 90 Connecticut towns, will be traveling to New Pond Farm on Sunday, May 6 to partake in the half marathon, seven-miler, "Mighty Cow Challenge" (a 3.1-mile race followed by the half marathon), and the quarter-mile and three-quarter mile children's "Piglet Prance".

Registration can be found on the race website, www.reddingroadrace.com. The event will feature eight aid stations, runner awards and gifts, a fantastic crew of helpful volunteers, and a post-race gathering at New Pond Farm.

Information about Mile Marker Sponsorships for local businesses and families may be found on the race website. All race proceeds go to support New Pond's hands-on environmental, historical, agricultural, astronomy, and arts programs that reach more than 5,000 area students a year, bringing their in-school curriculum to life.

Volunteers for this inspirational event are always welcomed! Please contact Ann Taylor at ann@newpondfarm.org for more info.

Additional race details and contact information for Race Director, John McCleary, can be found on the race website.
