An Evening of One-Acts Opens at Ridgefield High School on Friday

The Visual and Performing Arts Department of Ridgefield High School will present An Evening of One-Acts on January 26 & 27 and February 2 & 3, in the Black Box Theatre of Ridgefield High School, at 7:30 each evening.

The evening will consist of three one-act plays: Postcards by Carol K. Mack, Ladies in Waiting by Michele Palermo, and The Most Massive Woman Wins by Madeleine George. Unique to the event is that each play is directed by a student in the Advanced Acting class at the high school, under the supervision of teacher Sherry Cox.

In Postcards, three women unveil their hidden natures and stories at a beach resort. In Ladies in Waiting, a wedding is about to take place, but a secret threatens the event. The Most Massive Woman Wins is set in the waiting room of a liposuction clinic, where women examine their ideas about body image. These plays contain adult language and mature themes.

An Evening of One-Acts will have four evening performances, January 26 & 27, and February 2 & 3 at 7:30 p.m. The snow date is February 4 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. Ridgefield seniors who have a Gold Card may enjoy one show for free but must have the Gold Card with them for admission. RHS telephone: 203-894-5750.
