Froggin' with Friends the Morning

Looking for something to do this morning?  Here is a fun option from the Discovery Center at Ridgefield.
 
What is more fun in the summer than going froggin'? Come join the Discovery Center at Ridgefield as we learn about their life, adaptations and habits. Then we'll go looking for a few of these amphibians and their kin. All Ages welcome!

Detailed Description:

This program will begin with a brief introduction to frogs, with an opportunity to examine their adaptations, view their powerful legs in action, and listen to their fascinating calls.  The program will continue with a field walk through this beautiful Open Space in search of frogs and their kin.

Feel free to bring along your favorite frog net!  We will catch - and of course, release - some amphibian friends.

All ages are welcomed to this easy informational hike.

What to wear:  Long pants, rain boots for protection from the mud, plus tick/insect protection are recommended

Location:  West Mountain McManus Open Space.  Participants can find parking and the trail entrance for it is along Oscaleta Road, 0.4 mile from the intersection of Oscaleta and West Mountain Roads.  (Across the street from the Reed Open Space section).
