Congratulations to Twelve Ridgefield Runners!

Not all notable Ridgefield athletes are in Sochi this week...

Twelve Ridgefield women, or Damsels in De-Stress, headed to Florida over the weekend to participate in the Miami to Key West Ragnar Relay Series, benefiting Special Olympics of Southern Florida.  These Damsels ran approximately "200 miles, day and night, relay-style ~ only one runner on the course at a time."  Each ran three times, with legs ranging in length between 2 and 9.9 miles and varying in difficulty, or a total distance of 12.3 or 20.2 miles.

Their hard work and dedication paid-off; they finished 3rd in the Women's Open category (170th out of 478 teams) with a time of 32:23:35.

When not running one of their legs, these Damsels in De-Stress, many Ragnar Relay veterans, followed the course in two vans, with lots of laughs, a few tears, and many, many words of encouragement!

Congratulations... I'm sure we'll see you running on Main Street very soon!
