The Juicy Details of ROUND 3 of Ridgefield's Best Burger

Members of the Ridgefield Capital Asset Management (RCAM) team continue to get the beef on Ridgefield's best burger. Today, they gathered in their Grove Street office for ROUND 3 of "Ridgefield's Best Burger" contest.

"This was the most competitive round so far," admitted Rob Ellis, Managing Partner at RCAM.

Six local restaurants were contestants in the ROUND 3 of "Ridgefield's Best Burger":

  • Prime Burger
  • Country Diner
  • La Piazza
  • Luc's Cafe
  • Cellar Door
  • Wooster Hollow Diner

The burger, a classic American Cheese Burger, without any "fixings", was accompanied by French fries and onion rings (where available). Feda ordered each burger to be cooked medium. Buns on each burger were not specially ordered but the quality of the bun was factored into the overall results.

A total 18 burgers were cut into 72 pieces. The RCAM team members visited each station, tasting the burgers and fries. Was the burger juicy? Cooked accordingly (medium)? How about the flavor? Were fries crispy and flavorful?

And the results of ROUND 3 are especially juicy. Luc's takes away first prize for best burger AND fries. "The top two contestants virtually tied as one pathetically timid tester split his vote. Cellar Door and Luc's move on to the Grand Finale taste off between the top two finishers in Rounds One and Two," Ellis reveals.

And what about the onion rings? "Country Diner won it unanimously, the first time we've seen someone garner every vote in any category or round," says Ellis.

Competing in a Final Championship Round are the 1st and 2nd place winners of each round. They are:

  • Bailey's Backyard
  • Bissell House
  • Tom Tom's
  • Fifty Coins Restaurant
  • Luc's
  • Cellar Door

Ellis says he is "looking forward to the Grand Finale and...moving on to pizza".
