Editor's Note: As a life-long user of public libraries, it has been a thrill to watch our Ridgefield Library grow, move and expand. Before children, I was a voracious reader that really only used the library for borrowing books. But once I had a family, I realized how important a library is to the community and the people in it. I made sure that my children understood the value of words, books and reading; and my family was a regular fixture at many of the programs the Ridgefield Library offered to children. I've even spent the night on the 2nd floor of the "old" Ridgefield Library (how many people can say that?). As my children got older and could navigate the Library on their own, I learned of all the valuable resources the Library offers the community for adults and I was hooked.

So as you can imagine, we have all watched in anticipation as the corner of Main and Prospect Streets has changed over these past 18 months. Now, on Friday, we can actually walk through the doors and see our new "home." And in these coming years, I don't think you'll have to look too hard to find me, and other members of my family, there.
