Whether it’s indoors or outdoors -- It’s both at The Ridgefield Playhouse --, just get moving on Family Health & Fitness Day USA, on Saturday, September 27, from 1 – 4 p.m. Tons of fun events are planned for the whole family to enjoy together, all geared to make working out convenient and accessible for everyone in the family. The pros of The Gym of Ridgefield and Southbury will host a “giant” Zumba class on the Playhouse stage plus Pilates, yoga, obstacle courses and much more to inspire regular exercise. Nature’s Temptations will serve healthy smoothies in the lobby. “We partner with The Gym (formerly Ridgefield Fitness) every year to create an event that coincides with Women’s Health and Fitness Day, which is the last Wednesday of September, or Family Health and Fitness Day, which is the last Saturday of September,” says Allison Stockel, Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse. “In the past, we’ve done Zumba classes on the stage of the Playhouse at night, and this year we’re expanding it to do fun stuff during the day that is outside, as well as bring additional classes, such as yoga, to the stage. We’re so pleased to be partnering, yet again, with The Gym and applaud their commitment to making exercise fun for the entire family!”
