I'm Dreaming of a White Thanksgiving...

... will probably come true!!

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for 4 to 8 inches of heavy snow for our area.

This watch is in effect from Wednesday, November 26, morning through Thursday, November 27, morning.  The precipitation begins as a  mix of rain and snow, but turns to all snow by early afternoon.

This will significantly impact holiday travel and precautions should be taken.

For local predictions that are usually spot on, you might want to follow Ridgefield High School Weather Service on Facebook. On this page, several students and a recent graduate of RHS study and interpret weather data for our area "with the hope of creating an environment to discuss anything to do with local meteorological phenomena."   The page is frequently updated and questions are answered, but perhaps their biggest draw is their school predictor pie chart ~ offering an amazingly accurate prediction of what the Superintendent's office is going to do on snow days (Remember, they predicted the unprecedented three-hour delay last year).
