Services at St. Mary Parish for Bill O'Connor of Ridgefield

William “Bill” O’Connor

William “Bill” O’Connor, 48, of Ridgefield, husband of Jean (Lenihan) O’Connor and father of Claire, Jack and Ellie, died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Danbury Hospital.

Bill was born November 20, 1966 in Pampa, TX. He grew up in Montgomery Township, NJ. He graduated from Montgomery High School where he excelled on the baseball team and went on to graduate from the University of New Haven.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1998, Bill was a member of St. Mary Parish. His greatest role in life was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. Bill spent many years coaching softball, baseball and basketball...always with patience and always with positive reinforcement. His biggest joys came from watching his three children play sports. There is not one gym or field in town that he has not cheered from the sidelines!

In addition to his wife Jean and three children, Claire, Jack and Ellie, he is survived by his mother Joan and brother Mike of Montgomery Township, NJ, sister Erin Dantzler of Sykesville, MD and several nieces, nephews, cousins and fabulous in-laws. His father Jim passed away when Bill was eleven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00PM.
