Hot Diggity Dogs will Race at Lake Compounce

A canine race just for wieners? You bet. And our New Canaan HamletHub editor, Rachel Lampen, will be there rooting for her dachshund, Louis. "Louis Lampen is racing tomorrow against 78 other dachshunds at Lake Compounce...think of him at 1pm," said Lampen.

The 2nd Annual Wiener Dog 100, in partnership with Lake Compounce, will be held tomorrow, Saturday May 23, at Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT.

"In addition to the race we will be holding a parade fashion show and hotdog bobbing contest immediately following the race.
The first, second, and third place finishers in the race as well as the winner of the hotdog bobbing will all receive prizes that include healthy dog treats, toys, and Lake Compounce tickets to be used by their parents," explained event organizers on their Facebook page.

Best of luck to Louis and to all of the canine participants! This is sure to be a hot-diggity-dog kind of day!
