Ridgefielder has created water that literally grows on trees & you can purchase it at Tazza Cafe

Editor's note: we interviewed Adam North Lazar a few months ago when he first launched his company, Asarasi. We learned today that this natural tree-filtered water can now be purchased at Tazza Cafe on Main Street in Ridgefield.

Did you know every year 500 million gallons of naturally pure tree filtered water vanish? Until now that is...

Asarasi water, new to the market, is naturally pure tree-drawn water with a mild sparkling silky-soft texture and a hinted sweet finish. Simply put, it's a refreshing beverage, lacking calories or sugar, that is completely natural and environmentally sound. Making the product even more appealing is that it is created from organic and truly sustainable, eco-friendly sources.

Ridgefielder Adam North Lazar, an Army Guard turned product developer is the brainchild behind Asarasi, a word meaning "Maple" in Latin. Back in 2008, Lazar attended a maple sugaring event in Vermont when he became alarmed at the pure tree filtered water left behind after sugar from the Maple tree sap is completely removed. He made it his mission to find a way to use this water to benefit the Earth, and all of the people on it.

The water is harvested and collected from maple trees at the same time the tree is tapped for its sap, which is 97% water. Traditionally, this water is wasted and disposed of, but now is beginning to gain its deserved recognition as the purest form of water available.

Lazar explains that drinking Asarasi allows consumers to be part of the solution instead of the problem while doing something beneficial for both your body and the environment. "Our commitment is to creating the world’s greatest natural renewable water resource from the Sugar Maple Tree, " explains Lazar.

Asarasi values positive and ethical relationships, especially with farmers, as they help to maximize economically struggling farmers’ profits.

This new water commodity is a unique, sustainable, value added product. Its is packaged in a sleek, recyclable glass bottle, instead of a plastic bottle which takes fuel and water to create. It is in the process of gaining USDA Organic certification because it is derived from a biological source. This will mark the first product in the market to do that.

Tree huggers need not worry, no trees are harmed in the collection of Asarasi water!

Asarasi is working on distribution agreements with large national and international companies and is already in restaurants across Connecticut and New York. Look for Asarasi sparkling tree water in stores and restaurants around town soon!
