The community comes together to create A Rainbow of Possibilities for SPHERE

BMW of Ridgefield was transformed into a magical place somewhere over the rainbow - where possibilities are endless and the future holds no boundaries for adults with intellectual disabilities. SPHERE’s “A Rainbow of Possibilities Gala”, a sold-out event, celebrated community at its very core.

For nearly three decades, SPHERE has remained true to its mission: to enrich and enhance through education, recreation and the arts, the lives of adults with a broad range of disabilities, while fostering relationships between members and the community.

“We are all here tonight so we can fund programs SPHERE provides for its members, “ said Rebecca Ciota, SPHERE board member. These programs which include music, art, physical fitness, cooking, and education, give SPHERE members opportunities to interact and engage with all facets of our community. “We have grown to 58 members...there is nothing we can’t do,” added Ciota.

Lori Bersiford, co-chair of the event, presented SPHERE's inaugural "Commitment to Service" award to the Jensen Family. "This is a family so deserving of this honor because of their dedication and service to people with disabilities," explained Berisford, SPHERE Chairman of the Board. Valerie Jensen, who served as President of SPHERE for several years, "brought the organization to new heights" says Berisford.

The beauty of SPHERE resonated throughout the room when SPHERE member Susan Choplinkski and RSO member Joe Russo performed an original piece, in perfect harmony, titled “Rainbow at Sunset”. This duo encapsulated the essence of SPHERE.

Thanks to the entire community for your outpouring of support- to BMW of Ridgefield for a beautiful venue, photographer Mary Harold for capturing memories behind the lens, Gallo for providing absolutely delicious fare, the Gala underwriters, and the host of volunteers who worked under the leadership of outstanding event co-chairs, Lori Berisford and Elaine Cox.
