Meteorologists are watching two storms that could impact our area early next week

Don't put away your shovels. We received word from Dick Aarons, Director of Ridgefield's Emergency Management Team that the local area may be impacted by 2 storms during Monday and Tuesday, February 8 and 9.

This is just in from NOAA:

Storm 1, Late Sunday Night into Monday – An offshore storm might produce snow and minor tidal flooding late Sunday night and Monday.  A New Moon predicted for Monday will bring higher than normal astronomical tides.  At the time, our local area appears to be on the northwest fringe of this intense offshore low pressure system. Because of uncertainty in forecast track, this will bear watching for any shift in the track further west.

Storm 2, Monday Night into Tuesday – A weaker low pressure system is forecast to develop across the Mid-Atlantic States and bring more snow and minor tidal flooding during this time.  Forecast uncertainty remains high in terms of future track and intensity.  Stay Tuned.
