Free Dinners: They're Back at St. Stephen’s Church in Ridgefield

Community Dinners will return to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for five consecutive Sundays − February 14-March 13. The meals are free, and they are open to everyone in the Ridgefield area. They will be served from 5:30-7 in the church’s North Hall, 351 Main St. in Ridgefield. On the menu for February 14: baked ziti, chicken cacciatore, meatballs and sausage, salad and dessert.

The dinners’ goals are to foster community across denominational lines and to offer a meal to those who are hungry for food and fellowship. “This is our third season of Community Dinners,” said the Rev. Whitney Altopp, rector of St. Stephen’s. “We have been gratified by the enthusiastic response to this program and look forward to recapturing the fun generated simply by having people sit around the tables and share a meal.” Families are welcome and kid-friendly options will be available.

The dinners will be prepared by volunteers from St. Stephen’s in the church’s kitchen. Although they are free, donations will be accepted, and reservations are not required.
