Donna Palomba delivered the keynote address at the 11th Annual Women's Forum

This past Wednesday at the Ridgefield Chamber’s 11th Annual Women’s Forum the keynote speaker and founder of the organization Jane Doe No More, Donna Palomba, shared her story of being violently raped by an intruder in her own home. She inspired everyone in attendance with her story of taking action after being mistreated during her attempts to identify and prosecute the man that attacked her. Mrs. Palomba’s battle to heal after the crime committed against her was made worse by the lack of support she received from the investigators on her case and members of her own community.

She recognized the harm that the lack of support for victims of sexual assault caused and started Jane Doe No More with the mission to eradicate the negative stigma associated with sexual assault victims.

Mrs. Palomba was the perfect choice to speak to the other strong woman at the forum because she was not willing to just accept unfair treatment she received. Instead, she continues to fight to make a difference. It was impossible not to be inspired by Palomba's efforts to ensure sexual assault survivors are treated better in the future.

If you are interested in helping Mrs. Palomba with her mission upcoming opportunities include the Who’s Your Cady? Ladies Golf Outing on September 19th at the Chippanee Country Club in Bristol, and the Eversource Hartford Marathon on October 8th.
