Two local students graduate from St. Lawrence University

Nearly 600 students received bachelor degrees from St. Lawrence University during Commencement ceremonies held on May 22 in Canton, New York, including two from Ridgefield.

Travis J. Galowski of Ridgefield. Galowski is a member of the Class of 2016 and majored in international economics-spanish. Galowski received the degree of bachelor of arts. Galowski graduated from Northfield-Mount Hermon School.

Lillian J. Smith of Ridgefield. Smith is a member of the Class of 2016 and majored in psychology. Smith received the degree of bachelor of science magna cum laude. Smith graduated from Ridgefield High School.

Three honorary degree recipients spoke during St. Lawrence University's Commencement, including Congresswoman from Massachusetts Katherine Clark '85, Cornell Professor of Biology Charles "Chip" Aquadro '75, and retired NHL General Manager William "Bill" Torrey '57.
