Last night the Ridgefield Playhouse stage was graced by one of the most legendary voices in the history of music: Loretta Lynn. From the poverty of the Kentucky hills to Nashville superstardom, and to her current status as an honest-to-goodness American icon, Lynn bedazzled the sold out crowd in every sense of the word.
Opened by the multi talented Jessica Lynn (no relation), Lynn, who was adorned in a gorgeous red dress, treated the Playhouse to some of her greatest hits; hallmarks on the world of not just country, but music as a whole. Lynn brought the audience to their feet on more than one occasion.
To make the evening even more special, the legendary band leader from the David Letterman show Paul Shaffer (who happened to be in the audience) joined Loretta Lynn onstage to play a few hits including "You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man" and concluding with the Patsy Cline classic "Crazy".
