The National Weather Service (NWS) in Upton has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 pm on Monday, February 13 for interior southern Connecticut.
A wintry mix is predicted with snow accumulations of about 3 inches in the greater Danbury area. More significant than the snowfall is the wind which is expected to kick up late tonight and into Monday.
The NWS has issued a High Wind Watch in effect from Monday morning through Monday afternoon.
Strong winds are forecast, beginning late tonight and continuing through the day Monday. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible. These strong winds may blow down limbs, trees and power lines. This may result in scattered power outages.
