Branchville Elementary School – An Evening Of Talents

A huge shout out to Branchville Elementary School’s 4th and 5th grade students who put up a talent show this evening which was nothing short of toe tapping, finger snapping entertainment! It took extreme effort to be seated without breaking into a Whip/Nae Nae dance move.

A very amusing trio of announcers set the mood for each upcoming performance through their little comic bits while a group of hard-working backstage helpers set the stage seamlessly. We had a variety of musicians, dancers, singers, athletes and even a DJ who rocked the house. An incredible show of teamwork!

To say these 10 year olds and 11 year olds were amazing would be an understatement. But even before any of these young performers lifted a finger or raised the microphone, they had already shared with us possibly their greatest talent – to overcome fear and share with over a hundred people a little part of who they are. Bravo!

Such self-esteem and confidence doesn’t come by itself and one can only imagine the patience and effort put in by the faculty to help these children. My daughter has a few more years before it is her turn, but she walked out of the hall this evening feeling excited and encouraged. Well done and thank you!

Least but not last a wonderful audience ready to cheer and encourage. A child’s interests and talents is as unique as their fingerprint and it takes a community of like minded individuals to recognize and promote it.

The school’s principal, Mr. Keith Margolus, perfectly summed up the evening -- “Incredible!” and I couldn’t agree more.
