What if it rains on Ridgefield's Memorial Day parade?

Many recall that in 2016, Memorial Day came and went sans a parade in Ridgefield. In fact, the decision to cancel the parade came on Sunday, the night before Memorial Day. Mother nature decided to throw a curve ball- Memorial Day wasn't a washout afterall.

The big holiday weekend is upon us and buzz from the local weather experts is that rain may be in the forecast for Monday, May 29. Don't fret - Ridgefield has a plan. We spoke with Parade coordinator and American Legion member, Denis Loncto, who said that a decision will made at approximately 8:30 am on Memorial Day as to the annual March.

Loncto says that if it does rain on our parade, the speeches and ceremony will take place at Jesse Lee United Methodist Church at 11:30 am. Loncto will let local media, including HamletHub, know about parade decision so they can inform residents.

Let's think SUN in which case Memorial Day Parade will step off at 11:30 from the Jesse Lee United Methodist Church!

Rain or sun, Monday is about respecting and remembering the American men and women who have served, who already served, and are currently serving to protect our country!

Thank you to Denis Loncto, American Legion Post #78, and the Town of Ridgefield for all you do to make Memorial Day unforgettable in Ridgefield.
