Weekend Traffic in Ridgefield

The first weekend detour scheduled for the replacement of the bridge on Route 7 (over the Norwalk River in Ridgefield) is nearly over. And you survived. Four more to go.

This is the first of five weekend closures allowing traffic to be detoured around the construction site using Route 35 and Route 102.

According to the DOT, the closure is necessary to facilitate construction activities on Bridge 02029 carrying Route 7 over the Norwalk River in Ridgefield.

Ridgefield Police have announced the detour routes are as follows:

Northbound Rt. 7 thru traffic will be detoured up Rt. 102 to Rt. 35 to Rt. 7 at its intersection with Rt. 35.

Southbound Rt. 7 thru traffic will be detoured up Rt. 35 to Rt. 102 to Rt. 7.

It should be noted that local traffic and those wishing to access businesses on Rt. 7 will still be allowed access except to the area where the bridge construction is taking place.

Ridgefield Police request that thru traffic follow the posted detour signs. Extra duty officers will be present on Route 7.
