Snow accumulations & road conditions in Connecticut

Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for southern New Haven, and all of Middlesex, New London, and Windham counties through the evening hours. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the rest of the state. 

At 5:00 PM radar showed bands of light to moderate snow falling across much of the state.

Temperatures are in the upper 20's in northern CT and near 32 degrees across southern CT. 

Total accumulations thus far generally range from 2" - 5" across the state with the highest accumulations in a band stretching from southwest to northeast across the center of the state. 

The snow on many roads is wet and very slick with many spinouts being reported across the state. Here's the latest forecast:

This Evening and Overnight: 

Light to moderate snow during this evening is forecast to taper off to light snow by 10:00 PM.

A moderate impact on evening travel is expected with snow covered roads in many towns. 
 
Light snow is expected to continue for several hours overnight and end by 5:00 AM with lows in the upper 20’s.  Total accumulations are forecast to range from 3” – 5” in the NW Hills, 4” – 6” across most of the rest of the state with isolated amounts over 7” in a few towns.  

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will continue to closely monitor this storm.
