UPDATE (April 23, 2014): Friday, April 25, is the last day to order a "HERO" award for a special Ridgefield teacher, paraprofessional or staff member, as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. Don't miss this great (and fun) opportunity!
For the second year in a row, Ridgefield Public Schools will be invaded by Super Hero's during Teacher Appreciation Week of May 5th. The Ridgefield Education Foundation once again presents HERO AWARDS-Honoring Exceptional Ridgefield Outstanding educators! Parents can purchase certificates in advance recognizing a teacher for their hard work, innovation, creativity and dedication. During Teacher Appreciation Week, Mrs. Incredible will visit all of Ridgefield's elementary and middle school hallways to personally hand deliver certificates and declare to students that their teacher was a "Ridgefield Public School Super Hero!"
"Last year was a huge success. Proceeds go directly back to the teachers in forms of grants. It's an amusing way to celebrate staff with a gift that keeps on giving!" explains Tori Dinkel, Ridgefield Education Foundation Hero Chair. The schools were dedicated to make it a success as well. Veteran's Park Principal, Lisa Singer said, "The Hero Awards were a fun and entertaining way to acknowledge teachers for all their efforts in front of their students. Along with rosy cheeks, it brought a smile to everyone's faces. Teachers and students were very proud." Last year the program acknowledged over 300 teachers and staff and the proceeds went to support the creative, innovative and collaborative programs throughout Ridgefield Public Schools.
