Art in Bloom in the Carriage Barn at Keeler Tavern Museum

The Carriage Barn at the Keeler Tavern Museum, 132 Main Street, Ridgefield, is hosting an art exhibit by Tina Phillips, of Ridgefield from Saturday, May 10th through Sunday May 18th. Friday, May 9th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM an opening reception will be held, to introduce lovers of watercolors to the paintings in this charming exhibit. Purchases of Tina's watercolors also will help benefit future restoration of the barn.

Tina Phillips, a Ridgefield artist, captures the beauty of nature in her luminous watercolors. Her subjects are vivid, yet delicate. They include flowers, landscapes, seascapes, and animals. This show "Art in Bloom" will be enriched by the many paintings depicting the Cass Gilbert garden at the Keeler Tavern Museum. Dozens of other works by Tina, will be included in the show. Some of these have never been exhibited before. In addition to painting professionally Tina also teaches watercolor for beginners to advanced students.

Prominent early 20th century architect, Cass Gilbert, designed and built the barn shortly after he and his wife Julia purchased the old Keeler Tavern and restored it to become their country home. The ground floor has recently been restored and will welcome art exhibits and other events during the milder months. Stop by, enjoy the lovely watercolors in the recently restored space where it is being shown.

The exhibit will be open for viewing and to meet the artist
