SoNo Baking Company's Grand Opening in Darien Just A Few Weeks Away!

John Barricelli knows a thing or two about business. Not only did he create SoNo Baking Company & Cafe, the wildly successful artisan bread shop which already has locations in South Norwalk & Westport, but he was also a featured go-to chef on Martha Stewart's television show.

So when John noticed that many of the customers who routinely flocked to his Norwalk store were in fact from Darien, it quickly became clear what his next business move should be. "Instead of making them come to us," Barricelli says, "it made more sense to go them."

That was the idea and inspiration behind the opening of a new SoNo Baking location right here in Darien. The doors are set to open in just 3-4 weeks, but to a loyal Darien customer base it feels like the ovens have already been turned on, as the heated excitement for Barricelli's decadent cakes, pastries and breads continues to rise.

In addition to a substantial local following, the new Darien location – at 49 Tokeneke Rd. – has numerous other advantages that appealed to Barricelli's keen business acumen, including great storefront visibility, and consistent foot traffic from the train station just half a block away.

At the end of the day, the opening of a new location in Darien was a no-brainer for Barricelli, as his artisan breads and top quality French-style pastries are sure to be a hit, and to turn his shop into a new local staple.
