Former Ridgefielder finishes strong in World Series of Beach Volleyball

 

Theo Brunner, a Ridgefield High School graduate who now lives in Los Angeles, has an opportunity to finish third for the World Series of Beach Volleyball.

According to Team USA, his team advanced to the semifinals and FIVB Grand Slam Friday after, Brunner and his teammade Todd Rogers of Santa Barbara, California won their second round match on Friday against Poland's (22nd seed) Losiak and Kantor, 21-16, 21-18.

In the third round, they survived a battle with Latvia's (5th seed) Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Janis Smedins, 21-18, 15-21, 15-13.

Brunner and Rogers were heavy underdogs, seeded 25th going into the tournament.
