HamletHub sat down with Ann Glaser, Club Manager at the gym in both Southbury and Ridgefield. We chatted about her busy life and how exercise has made a strong resurgence and impact in her daily routine.
Being a Club Manager at a state of the art gym, means that your place of employment is a backdrop for living a healthy life. Tell me about your job.
Taking on managing two gyms was a challenge I found myself not following my own advice to take time for yourself, little by little my workouts were slipping before I knew it 6 months had gone by I had not picked up a weight, I was barley doing any cardio workouts and I felt miserable. Here I had two gyms, 22 personal trainers, over 100 classes - right in front of me... This was the first time in my 20 plus year career managing gyms I was not working out on a regular basis I was so frustrated feeling quilty - I was not leading by example.
So, you're working at a gym all day - and not finding the time or energy to exercise. That's irony. How did you feel?
Wow how quickly things were changing, I was tired all the time, I felt aches and pains for no reason, and very stressed out!
I was at my wits end. I decided it was now or never. The best decision I ever made was to start personal training I have been training with Jen Hicks for 7 months 2 days per week AMAZING results.
Let's talk about the results
I not only see physical changes I feel amazingly well balanced and strong, Jen has perfected my core and hip stability along with balance, strength and range of motion with her huge toolbox of tricks.
When I compare my outdoor bike riding last summer to this summer, my strength and endurance has doubled. Here's a direct quote from a fellow cyclist last Wednesday "What is in your water bottle? You are killing these hills!"
I proudly answered G-2 and Jen Hicks - my personal trainer!
