An Afternoon Shopping at Ten Thousand Villages Benefits New Canaan Library

New Canaan Library announces that Ten Thousand Villages, 96 Main Street, New Canaan has an irresistible offer, right in time for the holidays. When you shop at the global marketplace on December 7, 2014 between 12 pm and 5pm, 15% of all proceeds will benefit New Canaan Library.

"The purchase of a unique handcrafted gift from Ten Thousand Villages will not only support the New Canaan Library but will improve the livelihoods of artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East,” said Carol Starkweather, Ten Thousand Villages in New Canaan store manager.

The event is one of many community shopping benefits hosted by Ten Thousand Villages in New Canaan. For almost a year, Ten Thousand Villages in New Canaan has partnered with organizations like the New Canaan Library to benefit the local community.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with this excellent organization, which has, for more than 60 years, been supporting fair trade for artisans around the world," says Lisa Oldham, Executive Director, New Canaan Library. "We are so appreciative of their support of our Library."

In addition to an evening of fun and fair trade shopping, Ten Thousand Villages and New Canaan Library are offering holiday shoppers snacks and a free gift with purchase.
