Liam Sims, son of Ridgefielder Sean Sims has died at 17

Liam Christian Sims, 17, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a junior at Dyersburg High School and was a member of First Christian Church. Liam was an active member of the Center for Courageous Kids.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church with Amy Staggs, Elijah Taylor and Marla Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Bowen's Chapel Cemetery in Friendship. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Survivors include his mother, Heather Sims of Dyersburg; his father, Sean Sims of Ridgefield, CT; his grandparents, Janice White of Dyersburg, Doug and Phyllis Carmon of Southaven, MS and Pat Kuhn of Connecticut; and his aunts, Addie Carmon and Amanda Carmon, both of Southaven, MS.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Sue Harper, Charles Harper, Leon Carmon and Alene Carmon.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hampton, Matthew Hampton, Dennis Robinson, Cal Johnson, Jonathan Jones and Randy Dailey.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Center for Courageous Kids, 1501 Burnley Road, Scottsville, KY 42164 or to NWTN Special Kids Fund, C/O WTH Foundation, 620 Skyline Drive, Jackson, TN 38301.
