Ridgefielder Sandy Reyes dies from injuries sustained in Casagmo fire

Thursday night at about 7:00 pm a fire broke out at Cook Close in Casagmo. EMS from Danbury, Georgetown, and Wilton aided Ridgefield Fire Department in their fire and rescue efforts.  Three people were injured as a result of the fire, two of them critically. Mother and son, Sandy and Joe Reyes sustained severe burns.

We are sad to report that Sandy, who experienced complications due to smoke inhalation, passed away at Bridgeport Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Her son Joe remains in the hospital and has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.

Friends of the Reyes family have created a "Go Fund Me" page in an effort to help the Reyes recover some of their losses, which include personal property and medical expenses. The following is an excerpt from the Go Fund Me page. Please visit the page to learn more and to donate.
