The Ridgefield Theater Barn will hold open auditions for the Pulitzer prize-winning play Glengarry Glen Ross, by David Mamet, September 12th 1:30-4:30pm, and Monday, September 14th 7-9pm. Those auditioning should be familiar with the play, and come prepared to read from sides provided.  The director, Katherine Ray, is excited about casting a diverse cast and encourages men of all ethnic backgrounds to audition.  Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, November 6th to 28th at 8pm, with Sunday matinees November 14th & 21st at 2pm.  Rehearsals to be scheduled once the play has been cast.

David Mamet’s 1984 Pulitzer Prize winning play, Glengarry Glen Ross, is about the struggles of four shady small-time salesmen in a small branch of a larger real estate company located in Chicago. Taking place over two business days, the play portrays the dog-eat-dog world of real estate and the ends ruthless salesmen will go to in order to sell overpriced and undesirable land to uninterested and reluctant potential buyers.  The cutthroat conniving salesmen resort to trickery, bribery, deceit, lying, and theft. This dark play successfully illustrates the social Darwinistic nature of the shady world of real estate in a big city and the Darwinian rules of the desperate salesmen's game.
