The Ridgefield Youth Lacrosse (RYL) program is proud to announce the appointment of Stacy Krys as its first woman president.
Founded in 1995, RYL is a non-profit organization that serves over 600 athletes (K through 8th grade) in the town. Stacy Krys has been a valuable member of RYL family over the last 6 years serving as a board member, coach and parent of 3 lacrosse players.
Reflecting on her recent appointment Stacy Krys commented, “Lacrosse is a great team sport! Along with learning the fundamentals of the game, our players will also learn to work out of their comfort zone, how to compete while inherently developing self discipline, and learning how to be a part of a team all while having fun! With these tools, our players will soar not only in the game of lacrosse but in the game of life! Thank you to Ridgefield parents for sharing your children, with your help at home, we will have a tremendous group of confident and capable group of athletes going forward. Their confidence is invaluable, my person thought is lacrosse is a big building block to get them to be their best self!
Stacy will continue to build upon the foundation created by outgoing president John Costigan. Over the last 8 years, John has made tremendous contributions to RYL holding numerous board positions in addition to coaching girls and boys teams. “We are deeply indebted to John for the countless volunteer hours he invested to strengthen RYL and provide the best possible experience for our kids in town. The program is stronger than it ever has been and John is a key reason why” noted Stacy.
RYL’s mission is to create a fun and enthusiastic environment for boys and girls to learn the fundamental skills of lacrosse and instill a love for the game. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports and RYL has experienced tremendous growth in both house and travel programs with over 22 teams, 60 coaches and 600 players participating annually.
