Ridgefield Fountain Gets Its Spring ON!

We caught this Ridgefielder "green-handed" putting spring touches around Ridgefield's beloved town landmark - the Cass Gilbert Fountain.

A big thank you to Mary and Steve Hicks who comprise Ridgefield's Fountain Committee. This dynamic duo (sans Steve today) are dedicated to the beautification of our town landmark.

The Ridgefield Fountain which stands on the corner of Main Street and West Lane serves as a defining and welcoming landmark to those who enter, a historical nucleus to those who call Ridgefield home. It was designed in 1915 by world famous architect Cass Gilbert who gifted the fountain to the town. Gilbert, who fashioned the Woolworth Building in New York and the US Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C., once purchased Keeler Tavern as a summer residence. He died in 1934 but his legacy in architecture lives on.
