Best of Luck to Ridgefielders Competiting in USA Swimming Olympic Trials

Update: AJ Bornstein swims his 200 Breast today, Wednesday, at approximatley 11:50 am EST. He is in heat 2 of 10 in lane 1 (thanks to his mom for these important details!)

Three Ridgefield High School students and RAC swimmers, AJ Bornstein, Marcie Maguire, and Kieran Smith are participating in the USA Swimming Olympic Trials at the Centurylink Center in Omaha, NE this week! Trials began yesterday, Sunday, June 26, and will conclude on Sunday, July 3.

Ridgefielders are among more than 1700 swimmers in Omaha vying for 52 possible spots to the Summer Olympics in Rio.

According to Jill Bornstein, Maguire will be swimming the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke, Bornstein in the 200 breaststroke, and Smith in the 400 individual medley. She has confirmed that AJ will swim on Wednesday morning, June 29, but time and heat have not been announced.

According to Swimming World Magazine, NBC Olympics will present eight consecutive nights of swimming Trials action in prime-time, including seven prime-time telecasts on NBC.

Coverage began yesterday and run through Sunday, July 3. Seven nights of live prime-time coverage will air on NBC, with prime-time coverage on Saturday, July 2, airing from 8-9 p.m. ET on NBCSN. NBCSN will also telecast daily qualifying heats.

NBC's comprehensive live streaming from the Trials will include all of the prelims and finals sessions.
