Native Ridgefielder, musician & artist, Edward A. Kruelski has died

Edward A. Kruelski, Jr.

Edward A. Kruelski, Jr., talented artist and musician, passed away September 17, 2016 after a short struggle with bladder cancer, at the age of 66. A resident of New Milford, CT, Ed grew up in Ridgefield, CT and graduated from Ridgefield High School. He was active with the Ridgefield Theater Barn, as an actor and as a designer of sets for many summer musicals during the late 1960’s and then attended Carnegie Mellon University to study theater set design. Ed searched many years before he found his passion as a charcoal and pastel artist. Over the last 20 years, Ed became a self-taught pastel artist, with his work winning awards in many shows in the Hudson Valley, including the Richter Art Center, Society of Creative Artists, Newtown, Kent Art Association, and Ridgefield Guild of Artists. He also won awards from the Connecticut Pastel Society and Pastel Society of America, and his work was accepted to the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward A. Kruelski and Maria Kruelski, longtime residents of Ridgefield, CT. He is survived by a son, Ted Kruelski of Virginia, a brother, Don Kruelski, of Virginia and a sister, Elaine K. Dykman, of California. The family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral arrangements are private. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
