Mountainside Pulls Application for Rehab Facility Due to Strong Opposition

Ridgefield Planning & Zoning received a letter from Gregory and Adams, P.C. attorney representing Artemis Partners, that their client was withrawing their application for Mountainside rehabilitation facility on Old West Mountain Road in Ridgefield.

In the enclosed letter from Artemis Partners dated January 16, they said, "We want to thank you for evaluating our proposal to open a Mountainside Extended Residence Care Facility on Old West Mountain Road in Ridgefield. It is with great regret that we write to inform you that Mountainside has decided to withdraw its application."

Artemis Partners stated that they did not want to create "disharmony" in the community. "Over the past few months it has become clear to us that the residents in the immediate vicinity of 162 Old West Mountain Road are not in favor of our application...while we know that the proposed project is misunderstood and misrepresented by the Ridgefield Neighborhood Preservation Alliance, we would rather not operate this program where the treatment of our clients could be in jeopardy due to the strong negative opinions of neighbors."

Artemis Partners thanked Planning and Zoning for their time and effort in considering the application.
