2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Medalist is RHS Student William Carpenter

Ridgefield High School Principal Stacey Gross has just announced the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Medalist is William Carpenter (Digital Art-Gold Medal).

"This year more than 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted to the Scholastic Art & Writing competition. Less than 1% were recognized at the national level. We’re proud to have William Carpenter represent our school in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards," said Gross.

2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. Within the Awards’ 29 categories, which include poetry, photography, sculpture, humor, editorial cartoons, and video game design, a record-breaking 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted for adjudication at the regional level this year.
