Class Speaker, Faculty Speaker, Valedictorian, & Class President Gear up for RHS Graduation

This year, Ridgefield High School’s graduation will take place on June 23rd in the O’Neill Center at Western Connecticut State University at 4 PM. The class of 2017’s graduation will have four speakers: a class elected student speaker, the Valedictorian, and the senior class president. In addition, the class invited one faculty member to speak at graduation.

Julia Yu is the class of 2017’s Valedictorian. The senior class president is Luke St. Pierre. The class-elected student speaker is Karena Landler. When asked about her speech, Karena said, “I was excited to be chosen as a speaker, and I'm glad that I can play even a small part in making graduation a positive experience for the class and their families“.

Lastly, the faculty member selected by this year’s graduating class is Katherine Gabbay, a respected English teacher and head coach of Mock Trial. When asked about her feelings for this class and her speech in general, Ms. Gabbay said, “I am honored to have been chosen to be the class of 2017's faculty speaker. So many of this year's graduates have made memorable contributions to RHS and the community. It is a pleasure to be part of their commencement ceremony”.

Graduates report to the O’Neill Center no later than 3:30 PM. Family and guests have to enter through Gate 1, whose doors open at 3 PM. There are no tickets required but Ridgefield High School asks that one invites no more than four guests.
