Wiffle Ball Heats Up: Ridgefield PD take on Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield

It has been a fun summer day in Ridgefield! This afternoon, The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield camp counselors played a friendly (but competitive) game of wiffle ball against the Ridgefield Police Department, whose team was comprised of members volunteering their time to participate.

The Boys and Girls Club had home field advantage, with their supporters behind them the whole way. At the top of the first inning, the Police Department was up at bat, scoring a home run right out of the gate! This was the only point they scored this inning, with the Boys and Girls Club up in the bottom of the inning. To the Club supporters dismay, the Boys and Girls Club scored no points in this inning. At the top of the second, the Police Department scored a home run bringing two players home, and at the bottom of the second, the Boys and Girls Club scored their first point with a home run.

When HamletHub signed off at the end of the second inning, the Police Department was up 3-1. You can catch our FaceBook live stream of the event here

Fun Wiffle Ball Fact: Wiffle Ball was created in the summer of 1953 in Fairfield, Connecticut!
