Sweet Love from Ridgefield to Texas

Farmingville Elementary School Girl Scouts CAUGHT doing good in downtown Ridgefield!

Ffth grade Scouts and their moms set up shop in front of AR Kids on MainStreet today with one mission in mind: to help the residents of Texas. As of 4:30 pm today, the girls raised nearly $1,000* which will be donated to Houston Food Pantry, the Red Cross, and Houston Humane Society (for pets).

The girls had a special person in their hearts today - their former Troop leader, Tara Schuster and her family who moved from Ridgefield to Houston a few weeks ago. "They [the Schusters] are fine and helping the residents there who are in need," said, Elizabeth Krause, who was selling the baked goods with her daughter, Olivia.

"Bail Out Texas" signs served as the backdrop of the large bake sale. All of the sweet goodness was homemade by the Scouts who sold their individually wrapped cookies, brownies, cupcakes from 11am to 6pm today.

"We have raised close to $1,000, and the girls are still selling - people have been so generous!"  said Elizabeth Krause. "If needed, the girls will continue [the sale]," she added.

Proceeds from the sale will be given to Houston Food Pantry, the Red Cross, and Houston Humane Society (for pets).
