The Coury Family Thanks Ridgefield For Love & Support in Aftermath of House Fire

Last week, a fire engulfed a home on Encampment Drive, leaving the Coury family displaced. In Ridgefield style, local businesses and residents came to the rescue, providing gift cards and necessary clothing items for the children.

Today, homeowner, Steve Coury, offered his thanks on Facebook and gave HamletHub permission to share with our readers.

We will never be able to personally thank (or even know) everyone who came to our aid after our house fire.

From our neighbors who clothed and cared for the kids the night of the fire, to everyone who donated clothes, gifts, and money, to our neighbors who took control and did everything for us, to all the local businesses who donated merchandise, to all our friends who showered us with love, generosity and kindness (and took our kids to lunch, dinner, movies, and shopping), to the schools, teachers, principals, and guidance counselors who ran out and bought the kids clothes the morning after the fire, to the landlord who is allowing us to stay rent free in a beautiful apartment while we find a more permanent solution— thank you for everything.

Thank you for the many invitations to join your family for Thanksgiving (many invites from people we never even met). Thank you for the countless acts of kindness.

Thank you to the firefighters who came to our rescue.

Ridgefield is a special place that I’ve been fortunate to live in my entire life and hope I never have to leave. Thank you.
