Tell me a bit about yourself.

I grew up in Westchester County and have been living in Ridgefield for the past five years with my husband and three Elementary age daughters.  We love Ridgefield and all it has to offer!

I am a registered nurse with experience in medical/surgical oncology, hospice, school nursing, and nurse recruitment. I also have my Master’s Degree in Nursing Education and have worked as a nursing instructor.

What is the first thing you will do as General Manager of JoyRide?

That’s a tough one because the position has many facets but I’d have to say my first priority is to meet as many people as I can.  From being in the studio as often as I have been, I know quite a few of the current riders.  However, it’s a place where there is always someone new to chat with. I’m hopeful that more and more new faces will come in during the holiday break.  It’s a perfect time to join us as there will be many fun and exciting things happening in the studio for the upcoming holidays and new year!

You are a community advocate! What local organizations are you part of and what do you do for fun?

I have been involved in various volunteer projects around town such as soccer coaching, school events, and fundraising for a local organization (Ann’s Place) supporting individuals with cancer as well as their loved ones.  I enjoy running races from 5ks to half marathons, traveling,  and of course, I love cycling at Joyride!

You are no stranger to JoyRide. Tell me what this dedicated cycling studio means to you.

JoyRide has been a great place for me to meet new people and get in an amazing workout.  The instructors are extremely talented, motivational, and true athletes.  I love that it’s a place for people of all ages, genders, and athletic abilities.  It’s welcoming and fun.  My experiences have been so positive that I was inspired to get my Spinning instructor certification earlier this year.

As the new GM of JoyRide, what would fill YOU with JOY?

One of my greatest hopes is that I will be able to get more members of the community in to ride!   The Town of Ridgefield is so special with people being very connected to each other.  That feeling definitely continues in the studio.  I would love to see more of our town heroes in classes...our teachers, firefighters, police, medical personnel.  They are such a big reason why this town is as wonderful as it is and I’m confident we could give back a bit of the joy they provide us with on a daily basis!

Can you tell I’m really looking forward beginning this position??

Indeed we can! Stop into JoyRide (62 Danbury Road) to meet Lauren and the JoyRide team.
