Ridgefield Students Help Local Families Solve Tech Issues

“We love working with technology and can help people get the most from their computers, Ipads and phones,” says Nikhil Paranjape, a leader at Good Karma Tech, a Ridgefield-based technology support business.

Nikhil and his partner Dev Chauhan are no strangers to technology. Dev is a senior at RHS and the president of the RHS Tech Club. Nikhil is a full-time tech consultant for a local business in Ridgefield.

Good Karma Tech offers families an affordable way to set up phones, tablets and laptops that are given and received as gifts during the holidays.  “One new service we offer is mini-lessons, at your home.  For example, we can help family members understand how to set up password manager apps to protect accounts,” adds Dev.

“Another mini-lesson we’re offering is how to use cloud storage, like the Google Photos app. These apps are great to store the huge numbers of photos and videos people are taking on their phones,” says Dev. “Everyone, no matter if a teen or an adult,  can benefit from knowing how to use cloud platforms for organizing and safeguarding their photos.”

For families with new computers, Good Karma Tech can provide help with set-up and recommended software. “We want Ridgefielders to know that no tech issue is too small for us to help solve,” observes Nikhil.

Good Karma Tech brings a student technology expert into your home, and fees are charged at $40/hour.  “In December and January, we are donating $10 from every home service call to the RHS Tech Club, to reduce club members’ personal costs for participation in upcoming competitions.
