Ridgefield resident and home builder, Donald Alexander Gall has died

Donald Alexander Gall passed away peacefully at his home in Ridgefield, CT, on December 18, 2017.  He was 87 years old.

Donald was born in Norwalk, CT, on January 7, 1930.  He grew up in Norwalk with his parents, Alexander and Esther, and his sister, Alice (Keisler).  He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1947.  He worked with his father for many years as a carpenter in the Norwalk area.  He married the love of his life, Carol Marvine Parana, in 1952.
 
Donald moved to Ridgefield in 1957, where he built a house for his growing family.  He continued to work with his father and eventually built up his own business as a builder of homes throughout Fairfield County.  He also did remodeling, renovations and general carpentry for over 40 years.
 
Music was a very strong influence in his life, and he often attended symphonic concerts in New York and New Haven.  He played the accordion in Culver Griffin’s square dance band for many years.  His love of all kinds of music led to a love of dancing, and he and Carol often hosted dinner/dance parties for their friends in their home.
 
Besides music, Donald also enjoyed cooking, traveling, sports, and going for long drives.
Donald’s wife, Carol, passed away in 1998.  He is survived by his sister and her husband, Alice and William Keisler, of Glendale, AZ, his daughters, Bonnie Reinhard (husband Randy) of Sun Valley, CA, Donna Green of Phoenix, AZ, and Cindy Wiseman (husband Tony) of Houston, TX, and 5 grandchildren.
