Dolores Holzbach passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on December 21st.
A native of Indiana, Do followed the love of her life, Jim, to Connecticut nearly 50 years ago and passionately called Ridgefield her home ever since. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor.
And, until just the last few months of her life could be found in her favorite seat at Saint Mary’s or wandering the aisles of her beloved Library downtown. She loved playing paddle tennis and watching professional tennis whether you wanted to watch it with her or not!
She also enjoyed rooting for the Yankees and the Patriots. (And, the family sends a special thank you to the Patriots for the comeback win mom got to watch while resting in her favorite seat by the fire.) A voracious reader and dedicated decoder of crossword puzzles of all kinds, Dolores was at her best being a mom. She was a master at making memories for her children and grandchildren, and Christmas was her specialty. She made everything from sugar cookies to her own ornaments, and if this year you awoke to your very first White Christmas, we’re pretty sure you have our mom to thank for it.
